You MUST understand this.

Before all else…

You MUST understand this. It is foundational to your life and your success.

If you don’t grasp the importance of this fact you will always struggle and have no control over your life.

Let me ask you – how many hours are there in a week?

A very simple question and something you would expect everyone to know the answer to, off the top of the head.

As simple as it is, not everyone knows the answer without doing the math. In fact, only 21 people out of over 4000 people I’ve asked knew the answer immediately.

This is less than 0.5% of the people surveyed. I can’t believe so few people know the answer.

Did you work it out?

There are 168 hours in a week.

Why is it important?

Why is it foundational?

The reason is, it is a finite number. There are no more hours or no less hours in a week than 168.

There is no such thing a short week or a long week. All you get is 24×7 =168 hours period.

You can’t have a long hour or a short hour – an hour is an hour.

Have you heard the expressions…

“There aren’t enough hours in the day”.

“I don’t have enough time”.

“The week is not long enough”.

“I’ve ran out of time”.

“The week is too short”.

When you focus on time you go backward. Your mind goes off in the wrong direction and all you get is stress and anxiety.

Can you make an hour bigger or smaller – can you make the week bigger or smaller?

The answer is NO!

An hour is an hour and a week is 168 hours period.

When you look at your schedule, has the thought occurred to you – I can’t manage time.

Scarry but interesting. If you can’t manage time what can you manage?

Hint – what do you do in the time?

The activities you do. Yes, the only thing you can manage are the activities you do.

That’s right, your successful life is about activity management not time management.

What activities are you doing and how many one hour time slots do they occupy.

Because most people I’ve spoken to think of the week as something like:

  • The working week
  • The five day week
  • The three/four day week
  • The 40 hour week
  • The 60 hour week
  • Even the 4 hour work week.

They are thrown off track and forget or overlook some very important ingredients of the 168 hour week that can’t be avoided, ignored or neglected.

For the sake of the explanation I am referring to everything you do as an activity.

There are five broad activities in your life most every day and most every week.

(vary the inputs to suit your individual situation)

When you mark these activities, you can see clearly what you are doing with your week. Are you going backwards, sideways or forward?

Because everything/ all the inputs are now in full view you have to ask yourself if you are satisfied with the outcome. Do you like the results you are getting?

If Yes – keep doing your chosen activities.

If No – then select different activities and see if they will take you to where you want to be.
